Here are some images of the cool and new things happening in the computer and technology industries. Overall it seemed like 3D television was making a huge hit with many manufacturers introducing different types from the most common such as Active Shutter or Polarized. However, there was one new technological introduction that was making waves which was the number of 3D TVs that didn't require wearing glasses. While they were a novel ideal, the actual technology didn't work as well. In fact what it really was, was just a lenticular video screen. Much like the lenticular stickers you used to enjoy as a kid, these screens could reveal some rotation around an object if the viewer moved around the screen, but due to the nature of lenticular images, it flickers as you move which at times gave me a headache and cross-eyed.While there are rumors floating about that desktop is dead, I'd have to disagree just slightly. While I think there is a overall decline in desktops, I don't think it will be entirely abandoned. It's pretty clear now after a couple of years of netbooks that these micro laptops running on Attom just don't have enough power, flexibility and longevity to serve as viable computer. With the advancement of the iPad and it's continued adoption, more people will begin opting for the slate format for their casual computing needs which the netbooks once served. Additional you cant compete with touchscreen and battery life of an iPad so they will all be joining them soon. Clearly HP's acquisition of Palm is a sign of things moving in that direction, now with this mass exodus toward the slate format, Desktop usage will drop significantly but only toward equilibrium. Every home may now very well have both a desktop and a slate. The desktop powerhouse will remain an essential part of business and even though the prices of laptops have drop dramatically people will more likely opt for the desktop/iPad combination or the Laptop/ipad combination based entirely on cost. If your budget is 1500 then you would do better with an desktop and an iPad but if you have 2500 to spare then sure you'd probably get the laptop and iPad.
